How it works

From gross to take-home

Your gross salary is never what you take home. First, mandatory SSS (5% employee share), PhilHealth (2.5%) and Pag-IBIG contributions come off — and because these are excluded from taxable income, they also lower your tax.

Then BIR withholding tax applies on the graduated scale, where the first ₱250,000 a year is tax-free. What's left is your net pay.

Good to know

This covers your regular pay. The 13th month pay is a separate benefit and is tax-free up to ₱90,000.

No. This estimates your regular monthly pay. The 13th month is a separate, mostly tax-free benefit — use the 13th month pay calculator.
SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG are excluded from taxable income, so they lower your withholding tax as well as your gross.
